Default Re: 65 El Camino project opinions

The old owner had taken he heads off and tanked them I noticed that number 2 had gotten quite a bit of water resting in the intake port at some point so I went ahead and rebuilt them with new stainless valves nothing fancy just some elgin 21n with new springs and retainers, still digging through boxes to find intake bolts and engine parts to the puzzle, the elko has some surface rust and checked real bad but I went and hand rubbed part of the quarter surprisingly it looked good in a ratty way but it is the original paint so I decided for now I'm just bolting it all back together and making it run and drive again unrestored, other than the interior... I'm real pleased I went and called the man back buying something off line and never actually seeing it or the parts can be scary but this time was a score.
