Thanks guys.

It's been a LONG time since I've participated in a cruise in with any significant number of cars. I'm aware that car show/cruise in etiquette is apparently a sore subject for many these days. As I was getting ready to back the car into the parking spot, some guy stood right in front of the car and gave me a long, strange look--I thought perhaps I wasn't supposed to park there so I motioned to the guy if that spot was taken--no response, just a stare. I know some people like to save a spot for someone, so I was trying to be courteous. Talk about feeling like an outsider.

As a side-note, one thing has risen up on my priority list with the car--I have got to get this thing converted over to power steering a.s.a.p. This thing is a royal PITA to maneuver into a parking spot.

Eric - nah, forget the power steering -robs too much power. Go with an all aluminum block. you know, like an old ZL1 block from back in the day. Should make wheeling in the parking lot a bunch easier.

Thanks Randy.

Sam--I seem to remember the car being much easier to maneuver when it had the Polyglas' tires--maybe that's my imagination, I dunno.

Aluminum blocks actually cost power over their iron counterparts because the bores won't stay round & straight. Besides, I think I can spare the few ponies required to spin the pump and carry the extra weight.

Re: the latter, if I could manage to trim a few lbs off my own fat ass that would offset the weight of the PS system.

I have my own gym equipment at home. I'm usually just too wiped out at the end of the day to crawl under the bar or onto the elliptical. I know, excuses excuses...stuff sure was a lot easier 20 years ago.
