You deserve a hell of a lot of praise for your efforts here. Too many of the experienced crowd criticize younger guys instead of engaging them in a positive manner. Very well done, sir.

Thank you. This kid has his act together. He has the vision needed to get it done. I am helping, teaching but he is doing the work. I have impressed on him to do the best job he can. This is his dream car. EXACTLY what he has always wanted. Sometimes I made decision he did not like at the time. But he has matured so much since we have started and now see ' s why I did not let him settle on some things. Credit all goes to him. I just gave him the tools and guidance. He has done the work. I know this is not a super car but I trust him with all my cars. He builds my engines for me and he will help restore my cars.

![]() Really great what you're doing Dan and nice seeing the progress also please know you're more than the kid's hero! Maybe you should list things you need here as many of us have extra stuff to spare or less than perfect parts that could be made available cheap or just donated to the project? I'm trying to finish a 69 camaro driver. I agreed to work on it 4 years ago. I have worked on it in the past for a different owner. It just got paint and body work done. We have most everything for Mikes car. The project took off because I have so many parts. Mike is welding panels for my oldest customer a 75 year old guy still building cars. The kid is just that good. I show him things once and he remembers. And he does not come late, not show up or have excuses. He made enough money to buy the last big purchase he needed, the RS headlight parts. They were stolen from the previous owner. It was very satisfying to see him drive it. He has talked me into finishing my 64 GTO I bought 18 years ago. He has been after me for over a year and a half to finish the old goat. I just need to get the 69 done. But still searching for parts for my 68 in my down time. Thanks

Yes. Thanks though. I have 4 sets of seats. I am trying to sell off parts and clean up a, little. I was looking at pics of a 69 Chevelle restoration and thought guys might appreciate seeing what we are doing. I blew up in another thread about today's greed and one ups man ship. This is my hobby, and I'm an addict. I live it I breath it. But I am also realistic about what these cars and parts should be worth. I am proud to be associated with this young man. He has ALL the talent to do it. He just needed the nudge.. We all had a point in our life where someone helped us out. He deserves it. I am just lucky enough and blessed to be able to help him reach a dream he did not know he could attain. In the end my satisfaction will come when he drives it home for good and when he takes it to shows and can say that he did all the work. Our lives are a struggle in the community we live in. The average wage here is $13 an hour. He is married has a son and owns his home. He pays for the car as he goes. We plan purchases based on work we can do to make extra cash. He left where we met and a year later the place closed. He makes better money so the budget is not TIGHT. But don't think we do not watch every dollar. Ours is a story of a good kid getting a break. Also I am teaching him how to work on the old stuff. This needs to be passed on. Marlin that kid standing beside the 67 was me at 11. I still have my 67 convertible. 32 years now. The deal when our dad bought my brother and I each our first car was that we were not allowed to sell it. If that had to happen he got them back. My brother has a 55 Chevy 210 DelRey and I still have mine. And I put that stipulation on Mike. So he does not make the mistake of getting rid of it and someday regretting it.
