Am I the only one that thinks this is a completely dumb idea? Now the kids and customers who can't afford a real Z28 now can't even clone or tribute their Camaro into one? Stupid. Now with VIN's telling you what the car originally was, there is no way to forge a Z/28 and trick an unsuspecting buyer. Now you have to be rich to afford one of these. Us regular guys can't afford one nor can we even clone one if we even wanted to.

You'd think 1 and maybe 2 would go across an auction block rather than the showroom. Any guess on the markup?

Just found this thread:

650K for bragging rights! I suppose there's always another high-roller out there who will buy it from him, perhaps at an auction, at a profit.

There's already a Chinese company selling exact copies of those bitchin' black wheels and I'm sure body kits will soon follow. Neighbor girl down the street already has them on her V6 Camaro.

I have seen some factory alloy wheels in at the parts counters of some dealerships. Boxed in factory packaging, made in China.

So, I guess that "real" Z28 owners will now be stocking up on spares, since they will be the only ones allowed to buy them, and then be selling the spare parts on ebay? It will be long after my lifetime before they become anywhere near collectible or in demand. Any doubts, look at all the zero mileage Corvette pace cars that were put away that can still be bought at or below what they originally sold for, still in the original wrapper.

I believe it's known as "unfettered free-market capitalism."
