I think this is the ultimate day2 look and it's exactly how I did it back in the day. Either blackened steelies or chrome reverse out back and cragars or torque thrusts up front. I did this on a few cars and get a mixed review from strangers.....some ask why, or "can't you afford new wheels" or they just simply stare in appreciations.

Another vote for chrome steel / chrome reverse wheels. That's what I'm running on my '65 Nova. Here's a picture I took this spring.
![]() Maybe try chrome steel wheels and whitewalls up front and black wheels with pie crust slicks in the back. |

I would have loved a set of Cragar SST's back in the day. can't find any now, would be happy with just two. I have a line on four Ansen Sprints but they might wind up on Mike's Nova leaving me still looking. I definitely DO NOT want any look-a-like UNiLug wheels.

Thanks! I was trying for a mid-60s period look, and wanted something a bit different from cragar S/S wheels or torq-thrust style. I started looking through old magazines / photos, and realized that up until about 1968-1969, whitewalls and chrome reverse wheels were very popular. I wasn't sure at first, but now I am very happy with the "look". Car is a 327, Muncie M20, 3.36 posi - white w/ red bench seat interior. The best part is, Wheel Vintiques has these wheels available new in a wide range of sizes / backspace, and they are very affordable. |
