Why you so interested in the Red Nova??? If I produce paperwork, are you actually a BUYER or you just digging up dirt??? LOL!!
Vince says V.V. Cooke is ONE of the Best ones to own!!! Pay the man and find out for yourself... Anybody in the hobby long enough knows the V.V. Cooke Yenko Nova 427...

So now that Red Yenko Nova, which the original owner said was purchased with a 396 L78, has paperwork to disprove what he is saying?
Yes, I would have interest in a Red 427 Yenko Nova, that is documented with paperwork and owner history. The last time I spoke with Vince he told me that he was no longer providing info on individual cars, but that he would sell all the paperwork and info he had at the right price? |

FWIW I believe that style wheel was first installed only on 1970 Camaros. Then also used on Novas into the early '70's.

Correct, the wheel as shown on the Rally Nova didn't come out til a few years later. From what the early connections tell us, these wheels on the '69 Yenko Nova were some type of aluminum wheel - we have never really been able to determine what type though.
As for it's conversion, I'm not aware of specific paperwork that followed that car around - only prior owner history. Vince is indeed the best source at this point. I believe that the car was in KY with the original owner, but then was in Laconia, IN by June 26, 1974, and was then found next to a body shop in KY by Mitch Moore (possibly along with Mick Price) much later - I don't know how it migrated back to KY. I've seen the original condition photos of when it was found, and believe it still had the 427 emblems on it (photos were returned to Joe Grom of Chevy II Only who still has them I believe). The car was restored, and traded hands a bunch of times - each owner actually making the car a little bit better along the way. After Randy and Hand, I believe Christenholz had it, then Greg Joseph, then ??. I'll see if the guy from Steve's can share his personal affiliation with the car here.

Chill! It's an honest question, and worth asking - these cars are hard to document. All this chatter will only help sell the car!
- Another person to speak with is Warren D. to see if he has a file on it. - Mitch Moore is still around, and I'm pretty sure he was involved with the find. - Joe Grom is in Mt. Washington, KY running Chevy II Only and I'm sure he recalls the photos, 502-239-8487. - A Nova owner from Steve's site has a personal recollection of the car, I sent him a PM to see if he's willing to contribute. These are his comments from 2009 (note the reference to the rally wheels - maybe it was an early set of '70 Camaro wheels??) "This car did not come with any Mags on it from Yenko. It came with the stock Nova Rally's on it and Scat Track Tires." "I have known the car scene it was new. Know were it was bought new the guy that bought it new have drove the car and worked on it. I even know were the 427 that came in the car is and it is not in the car now." "I have an old snap shot of the car if I can find it I will scan it and post it for you." "But I did find it. This was taken when the car was around 2 weeks old. I could have picked it up at one time for $2500 Boy wish I had." "This car was picked up at Yenko. It was bought through Cook Chevrolet in Louisville Ky. This is the way it came from Yenko wheels are 14's not 15's. Good old nova rally's never liked them." "The owner pieced the car up at Yenko I do remember him saying it was the only nova there and that he had prepayed for the car at COOK and just could not what for them to go get it so he went up and got it. The rear tires were Scat Trac as I remember. Could be wrong on the name but boy there were sticky that thing would move. It was a 4speed no Carpet." "Same car.Take a good look at your first picture. Look the the Porch see the rug hanging there. Now look at my Pic. Same rug. Those are the pic's I sent him back in the day keeping two for me. Man them pic's are old. Is he still alive last time I talked with his cousin he was sick and not doing well at all. Have not been up there in a long time." "Ok took a look at the pic's in the guys folder not the same wheels. Like you look like ET mags or something. But still a very cool pic. I had one of the engine but have had no luck finding that one mat have sent it to him."

I knew there were 2 other pics of this car with the funky wheels, check out this thread from 2006!
https://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/ubbt...ova#Post182206 If you click on the close up pic you can see that this car did not have the engine call out marker bezel, but rather the standard bezel with what appears to be the 427 emblem installed. The wheels remind me of Hurst wheels.

I took a pic of that car outside Mitch Moore's shop in Ky years ago. I'll look for it. That was before he sold me a fake 396 Pace car and then disappeared.
