I don't know the race history of the car yet. I know the car came into PA in 1979, but was just over the border into Ohio before that. The paint and the way the car was dates back to prior to 1979.

Which part of Ohio?? A painter out of Cadiz Ohio(down near Wheeling W.Va-right across the PA border) , Tom Whitlatch was big into candy paint and those style of "buried" stripes. He painted a 69 Camaro in candy red with stripes somewhat similar to those but that car was tubbed.Tom's own Corvette won best paint at the 5000 car Street machine Nat's in 1978. PID was our "home track"

You car kinda reminds me of this cover car on Car Craft with those chrome Moroso valve covers, big block and red candy paint. Very good color scheme. Nothing is better than candy paints and lot's of chrome.

I have a phone number of another guy that had the car, but its been disconnected. I'm still searching. The stripes are buried, they are hard to see at different angles. They are like a pearl/metallic orange and they look really good with the candy paint.

Got the car to get a quick picture before the snow fell this past weekend. Getting close to finishing up. Sorry didn't get the rear window trim finished yet.

Got some more pics of my project completed. I love the look and the attitude of this car. I think the candy paint helps.
