early cars had the VIN on the pad I believe. Would that be a Muncie 4 speed originally?

The 327 would have had a Saginaw.

That leads me to a question. Do the Saginaw equipped 69's have a Hurst shifter like the Muncie?

All 1969 Camaros equipped with a 4 speed transmission (Saginaw or Muncie) received the Hurst shifter. As did the 1968 and 1969 Firebird.

Well you learn (or most likely in my case, RE-learn) something new every day. Thanks Matt.

Just came back from looking at the Camaro. Looks to be number matching, motor, trans and rear. The interior is mint. One fresh paint job. Exhaust manifolds and exhaust smog pump have the right numbers. 10 bolt rear single leaf spring, power drum brackes 125k original miles one owner with protecto plate. I didn't feel like spending $20k. If you want the phone number, pm me.
