I've been following it too. Apparently, it was snipers on deck who took them out as the lifeboat was reeled in closer.
One would think they might be a tad more careful about trying to hijack a ship with an American flag..........

The pirates fate was really sealed when their boat was dead in the water ..in the end I'm glad they gave the team the green light to end this .............My hats is also off to the Capt. who did the right thing when his crew's life was on the line...A true American...

I am sure if the rescue would have gone "south" someone from the fleet would have been on record as having ordered the mission. IMO...It is what it is - and it went on about three days too long.

I was already having Iran America Held hostage flashbacks from the media coverage.

With that said, the SEALS and the US Navy ROCK when they get permission to do what they are trained to do.

Thank you to all who have served/ who are currently serving. Last time I checked, our military is designed to use weapons, not negotiate. I do not mean to sound like a war monger, just stating that we are training these men and women with weapons, not to be on a debate team!!!
