Is there anything specific you remember the dealer having to repair on the car? Does Jack Gibbons City Ford sound like the right dealer?

Cool updates, is the GT350 known existing today?
What of the 03/71 NJ Herald Ad, any chance it’s the City Ford GT500 you're seeking or possibly Dave’s Dad’s car again the following year?
We can look for the City Ford subject or other cars if you want to share VIN/build/delivery dates, there may be nothing but worth a whirl?
Looking at late 60’s/early 70’s NJ papers now, I see new and used Dealer also Private Ads for different 66/67/68 Shelby GT’s including this 09/69 City Ford Ad below but little for 69’s specifically?

My parents bought one in late 1969, the car was a left over. I was seven or eight when they bought the car and I think that car is what go me so hook on muscle cars.
Sadly, my parents traded the car after less than a year of ownership. They said it rode too rough and bad gas mileage. They traded the car in for (ugh) a blue / white interior 1970 Oldsmobile 88 convertible.

I have always wondered what ever happened to that car. I don't know the VIN for the car and don't know the dealership they bought it from.
I have always wondered about the car (it is survive, was it scrapped; etc) but, never had much luck finding the car. I contacted the SAAC with no luck.
Last year I was diagnosed a terminal health condition. With that in mind I thought I would give it one last try to locate the car. I have no thoughts of ever owning the car, I would just like to know it's still around and, if it's still in the area, maybe I could see it again in person.
What was your dad’s name? Was the car ever in for any type of warranty work that you specifically remember?

My father's name was Myron Charles Rifkin (was the owner / pharmacist of Height's Pharmacy). I think the store was in the Piscataway area.
As far I recall the car was never brought in for warranty work.
At the time, my father was going through a divorce so I think the car was registered under the name of my mother (Claire Monaghan)
I do know the car was traded in after less than a year of ownership. It was traded to a nearby Oldsmobile dealership. Traded for a (gag) a 1970 Old Delta 88.

Alright. I borrowed the registry book and will look through it later with the new info. That part of the book is like 400 pages long though, so it might take a little time to look through. I’ll post again after I have some time to read.

I think I found your dad’s car in the registry, though I can’t be sure and there’s not much information on the history of this car.

However knowing it was shipped to NJ, there’s only a few choices, and knowing the options you remember the car having there’s really only one choice.

Grabber Blue was a late addition color so it would be a late 69 as it is. Lending to the idea it was a leftover sold new in very late 69 or 70.

9F02R482701 is the vin

Grabber Blue
White interior
Auto
Air Conditioning
Tilt Wheel
AM/FM/Stereo
Tinted glass
Intermittent wipers

Sold new by Jack Gibbons City Ford in Watchung NJ. This car came with the lower profile F60-15 tires on it with the Xtra heavy duty suspension. Possibly where your dad got the “full racing package” thing from.

Date of last information is 11/94, meaning the car still existed as of that point. And as of 11/94 it was still Grabber Blue according to the T at the end

Marked down MSRP because it was a 69 that had 5% taken off due to being a leftover.

I’ll do a little more digging and see if I can find anything else.

Looks like that is THE car, it matches the VIN Dave provided back in 2005.

Thanks Lee. I completely forgot about the post from way back. Seeing how close Watchung, NJ is so close to Middlesex (where we lived at the time) I would bet that would be the car that my parents owned.
It's a shame that additional owner history is available but, I really appreciate very one helping find what was locating.
I loved that car and always felt like hot sh#t as an 8 year old sitting in the back seat of that car. It may have not been the faster car in the area but, to me it was one of, if not the, coolest looking car in the area.
