Re: Musclecar Photographs mrays
A few modified cars from the same show.
The Hergina's 61 Biscayne with a 409. This car won the Full Size Street class. W. Crum's 64 Biscayne with an LS-1 and a 4L80E. This car won the Full Size Modified class and Outstanding Custom Rod. It was featured in the February 2008 issue of Super Chevy. The McClean's 55 210 with a 572 crate motor. This car won the Modified Tri-Five class. J. Montgomery's 66 Chevy II sedan with a Ram Jet 350 and a 700R4. This car won the Modified Nova class, Best Nova and Outstanding Modified of the show. It was featured in the November 2009 issue of Super Chevy. The Patrone's 70 Monte Carlo with a 402 and a TH400. This is one of the nicest 1st generation Monte Carlos I have ever seen. The attention to detail on this car is phenomenal. I believe it is an original big block car as well. It won the Modified Monte Carlo class and Best Monte Carlo. |

Re: Musclecar Photographs mrays
Here are a few race cars from the same event.
J. Fleenor's 67 Nova with a 434ci small block and NOS ran high 8's and was a True Street competitor. R. Tumbry's 68 Nova with a big block is a 9 second street car. This car has been featured in Super Chevy and RPM magazine. C. Myer's 70 Malibu was another True Street competitor that ran high 9's. I'm not sure what it had for motivation. This Z/24 had an ex Richard Childress Racing SB2 in it with a Lenco and ran 7.80's. Pretty quick for a naturally aspirated small block. J. Burns' 72 Rallye Nova with a 598 ran mid 9's. You don't see many Rallye Nova's anymore. J. Robinson's 71 Z/28 had a 540 and was another mid 9 second street car. This is the "Papa John's" car. The McGee's 66 Chevy II is one of my favorite second gens. It has a naturally aspirated 406 and runs high 9's in street trim. This car was featured in the Nova annual that Super Chevy puts out. Nice 63 Chevy II sedan with a big block that ran high 9's. |

Re: Musclecar Photographs mrays
Here are a few muscle cars from the Super Chevy Show in Joliet IL in 2008.
C. Ragland's 69 Chevelle SS L34 4 speed car with chambered exhaust. This is a Gold Class car that was restored back in the mid 90's and was a Super Chevy Show regular for years. This is one of the nicest 69 Chevelles that I have ever seen and that chambered exhaust sounds sweet. The Clinton's 69 El Camino SS L78 4 speed with a bench seat. This car won Gold at MCACN in I believe 2009. It is also up for sale at Mecum in Kissimmee this weekend. It now has red SS stripes down the sides. D. Walker's LS6 Chevelle. This was a numbers matching car and was a regular at Super Chevy Joliet. F. Ingargiola's 70 Chevelle SS L34 with an automatic. This was also a numbers matching car that I saw at the Super Chevy in Joliet several times. The Hardwick's 69 Z/28 was an X33 car that won the Stock Camaro class that year. |

A few modified cars from the same event.
The Germann's 66 Chevy II with a small block. It had Ram Jet EFI and a bolt on front clip. R. Watson's Pro Engineered 66 Chevy II. This car was featured in Super Chevy back in the 90's, but had a few upgrades since then. It has a front hinged hood and I believe suicide doors as well. It also has a supercharged small block with a 4 speed. The Bartoli's 69 Camaro had an LS-6 for motivation and a custom interior with a 00 Camaro dash. It won Best Modified Camaro and Best Camaro at the show. This 69 Camaro had an LS-2 and was built by Bill Jelinek who has a shop in the Joliet area. |

Here are a few race cars from the same event.
J. Kosiba's 63 Chevy II is one of my favorite first gen's. It was a True Street competitor and had a 352ci small block with NOS and ran high 8's. This car was featured in Super Chevy and Car Craft. J. Coyle's 63 Chevy II was a regular at Joliet for a number of years. It had a 383ci small block and ran mid 11's. The Ancel's 65 Malibu is one of the cleanest racecars around. I believe they did most of the work themselves. It had a big block with a Powerglide and ran high 9's. This car was featured in the February 1997 issue of Super Chevy. J. Ridings' 71 Chevelle SS is another very clean racecar. It had a naturally aspirated 582 and ran high 8's. This 68 Camaro had a naturally aspirated big block and ran high 8's. A few years prior to this photo it had a big block with NOS and ran 8.40's. They were making a Saturday night T&T pass and stood it up on the back bumper with all 4 wheels off the ground. I thought it was going to end up on it's roof, but the parachute hit the ground and kept it from blowing over. This is one of the nicest early 80's Z/28's I've seen. It had a big block and ran low 9's. |

Re: Musclecar Photographs mrays
Here are a couple of muscle cars from the Super Chevy Show at Indy in 2009.
E. Slone's Royal Plum 67 Chevelle SS L34 with a M20. This is a California built car and has since had the correct California AIR smog system installed. This car was displayed at MCACN, but I don't remember the year. It was also featured in the October 2012 issue of Muscle Car Review. The Patrick's 69 Chevelle SS conv. L35 with a TH400. The Renshaw's 69 Z/28 RS X33 car with a fold down rear seat. |

Re: Musclecar Photographs mrays
Here are few modified cars from the same show.
R. Massow's 55 210 has a 383 with an M22. This is one of the cleanest 55's around. Whenever he showed up he usually won the modified Tri-5 class. The Pederson's 56 won the Best Modified and Best Truck award. The McLaughlin's 56 had an LT-4. He was the Runner-Up in Modified to the truck above. Bob Meiring's 63 Corvette won Best Pro Street. This is an original 63 Corvette with a 632 and it ran in the high 7's. It was the Runner Up in the Pinks Quick 8 at Indy as well. The Schutz's 65 Chevy II SS. |

Sweet 67 Chevy II that ran mid 10's with a 383 and an NOS plate system. A 67 Chevy II SS with a 440 that was running high 9's without the NOS system. It was a fresh engine and he hadn't sprayed it yet, but was expecting 8's on the bottle. Nice 71 Chevelle SS with a big block and NOS. Since this car didn't have a roll bar he was only allowed to run 11.50's or slower so he kept shutting it down early. Finally at the end of the day he ran it out the back door with a mid 10 second pass. |
