When I first started at the Desert Proving Ground the manager's name was Norm Brown.

Like pretty much everybody that worked there, Norm was originally from Michigan.

He told me that when he worked at Chevrolet Central Office it was pretty common for the photographers to walk by and, catching you visiting with one of the attractive young secretaries (who all looked like the young lady below it seemed) would say "C'mon - we're going to lunch".

Next thing you knew you would be sitting next to a Vega in a picnic scene, in a photo destined for use in advertising or hanging in the hallway of the Tech Center.

I think it is pretty obvious where I got my inspiration.

From one "Z" to another.

Anyone notice the subtle differences between these two cover cars?? Note differences in hood and grille treatments.

On the left is the standard issue U.S. SS396.

On the right is the extremely rare Oshawa built Canadian market Malibu SS with the (Turbojet flag on the fender) 396 engine option. Production was only the first couple months of the '67 Model year and then switched over to the U.S. version SS396.

Vintage dealer card as a reminder about service.

Awesome illustration of this White on Red ‘63 ‘Fiberglass’ coupe cruising by race boats.

That rear glass is by far the coolest ever of any automobile.
