The General Lee Charger is Orange right? But what is the actual color? Is it Hemi Orange? Nope. How about Omaha Orange? Nope. How about Flame Red which is a GM color used on the 1975 Corvette (it's Orange not Red) - Wrong again. Pontiac's Carousel Red? No.

Bo Duke himself – actor John Schneider – has said the original color was simply a mishmash of paint the television studio had at the time. However, the mix just happens to match the code for TnT Express, which appears to be a shade used by a European shipping company for its fleet of trucks.

That's how "Petty Blue" came about, too. A mishmash of what was on hand, blended so there was enough to cover the whole car.
