Keith:

Is the arrow pointing to the truck or the house behind it?

----You got it, Rick! Based at the same property that the Ford family gave to the Govt. and transformed it into Willow Run. Great Museum there too, and getting bigger soon. Got to sit in every seat but the pilots and the copilots. Hard to believe what our wonderful fliers went through during those trying times.....Bill S

Well worth the cost of the ride and a once in a lifetime chance in many cases.

The truck.

Depending on where it was built I might have put the fenders on it.

40 years with GM truck, in product design and vehicle assembly. Those "square bodies" were the ones I started out on.

All told I worked on 6 generations of GM full size trucks.

And one small car.

(...and one very big car).

Well said Rick!!

My oldest cousin was a ball turret gunner on a B-17G that went down over Kiel Germany, May 23, 1944. He is buried in Belgium.

I got a ride in Aluminum Overcast a while back and also got time in every position except the pilot's. I have so much respect for the brave men who carried out these missions and the men and women who sacrificed for the freedoms we enjoy!!

Thank you to all who post up pix of these beautiful war birds, and to those who strive to keep them flying!!!
