I think there should be a whole section dedicated to Day-2.

This is worth quoting again in my humble opinion.

You can see the white wheel wells on my pop's car here, which I think was abut 1970.

Back when a good '57 hardtop could be had for a cool grand, maybe a little less. Note the Corvette sidepipes on the Chevelle at right.

Wheelhop (Jim Hanke) wanted me to post Andrew MacTavish's rendering of what Jim's Chevelle will look like when it's done!

Olympic Gold under Dover white with a Stinger ? I don't think there is a better combo for a 69. or is that the 70 Corvette gold

Either way, that is very C L

Here it is with the white wheel wells and Hooker Super-Comp Fender Well headers.

Might be a slight case of the older you get the cheaper things were. This car had a 327, M21 4-speed and a 4.11 posi. Sold for much more than a grand in 1971!

Nice view, nice car. Right across from 7/11. Just discovering them about 1970ish.

Yes, your dad's was worth more than 1K but in general, a decent '57 hardtop stocker/driver could be had for 1K or thereabouts back then.
