Speaking of Chicago, does anyone have any info on a McKeown Phelan Chevrolet in Glen Ellyn? My black 70 LS6 4sp was sold there new according to the NICB. The address shows what is now Jerry Haggerty Chev at 300 W Roosevelt RD. BTW Nickey Chevrolet is not completely dead, the small parts bins from the dealership's parts department are all in our parts dept to this day. When Nickey/Keystone /Lynch shut down we acquired them from the movers. (Ed Van Drill & Co) They are still full of Chevy parts being sold every day. come and visit them anytime. |

| Re: Chicago area dealer cars

Back in 1987 I took my IROC into Mckeown/Phelan Chevrolet for service.I was driving it to Texas the following week, and they were the only area dealership who had a sensor and harness in stock that my cars brain box needed. They were just switching ownership,so I asked if they had any crap in the attic they wanted to sell/throw away. They gave me permission to go look as I had to wait 3 hours in the waiting room for my car to be done. I was floored at what I found,Lights displays, catalogs, and boxes of old paperwork all from the previous 20 years.Half of it I couldn't carry.I did manage to get some displays and catalogs that were not specific to Mckeown/Phalin as well as many Communication Kits from 1968-72.They even had the projector & screen they showed them on.I felt at the time I got the best of the crap they had to offer, they had boxes of vehicle invoices & trinkets like keychains and dealer decals, ice scrappers, etc. They would have sold me the waiting room furniture if I wanted it.They really were abandoning ship at that time.It was a pretty run down deshoveled looking business by then. I always regret not getting more as my time & funds were limited.Today it's obvious the collectibility in that, but back then who knew as much.I do have some paper stating they were Zone-11 Dealer-368. |

Rick very cool, I need to buy a key chain and an ice scraper ! Somewhere I have a title search I did back in the early 90's when you still got the real names and such. The LS6 had numerous owners, I bet someone on this site owned it or knows of it. PM me when you get a chance. Thanks a million! |

' Thought I'd land this one here for Bill P. and you other Chicago boys. Cool if a couple Hurst Olds rolled through their doors but does anyone know or ever heard of any Yenko Camaros being delivered by Egizio? ~ Pete .
