Thanks Sam,
The Lamar Waldon decal explains a little about how he ran so good. Carter 750s, not the stock 600s. Lot's of changes from "stock".
In case others haven't clicked on Sam's link, you should.....there are a LOT of other drag pics there!

Seattle Sam always takes cool pics...here are a few more...Belair wanted them...

Two of the Funniest, most generous guys you will ever find.
Thats John Platania (SSL78) on the left & Darren Costello (DarrenX33) next to him.
John couldn't get the car off idle and Darren was quick on the spot to lend a helping hand.He was soon on his way.
These two guys are a wealth of knowledge & experience, who are only surpassed by their kindness.
I owe them much & enjoy their company & sharing Giggles..

[/ QUOTE ]I second that Rick. John and Darren are tops! Glad I had a chance to spend some time with them. I would like to see them at York next year with the rest of you guys.

I wasn't going to comment on that.................... I was being a good boy. I guess I'm just a little biased since I have the original M/Ts those were copied from. Yes, I like the "style", but I prefer the old school look of a chrome rim and aluminum spokes. It started in '65, so it's a contender for a "Day-2" '62 or '63.

Hey Belair, did you notice the 348 valve covers? (no drippers)

Verne

Super pics from one and all....many thanks to each of you for your efforts! Special thanks to Jeff Murphy for allowing me to go side-by-side with him. In his words, we were running the risk of taking out a large percentage of COPO cars in a single pass! Mr Cumby, it was great to run beside you. Thank you for the chance and the encouragement. Big thanks to J. D. too for the great pic and the mention that at one time both cars were sharing space in Dennis' garage. I am sure he was watching and giving us the thumbs up. (right after he smacked me in the back of the head for risking damage to his car that way) Oh well, that is what he gets for leaving me in charge. Red lights included, I had a fantastic day.

Once again, thanks to all for your patience, assistance, pictures and a great weekend! I have to ask one more time....Is it next year yet?!!!??!!??

The pleasure was all mine, my Dear. Of the three passes I made Friday, I was beaten TWICE by GIRLS!!!!!

Maggie Pelts gave me a HARD lesson in racing on my first pass; one I barely had a chance to see...

And Annie thumped me the second time (with her -.291 light! ). I guess I should have run Caleb to make the day complete!!!!

Third pass,......... RETALIATION!

But the best part was what no one else saw; the greeting at the end of the track. I'll say no more....... you just had to be there.

We love you Annie. Glad you had a good time. I'll make passes beside you anytime; NEXT YEAR?
