When the Hemi Dart came on stage, one announcer said "now here's a real fixer upper". He was corrected by another that informed him it was a factory race car. He probably figured it was some kids car that would sell for a few bucks.

[/ QUOTE ] Sounds about right...his site lists his fees, one of which is answering 10 questions for $50...

[/ QUOTE ]

So Galen Govier is forcing Mopar guys to pay his fee if they want their car's build history confirmed?

How is this different from Craig Jackson "forcing" sellers to play by his rules?

Is it that Mr. Govier is okay because he's merely trying to "feed his kids" but Craig Jackson is "greedy" because he's gotten rich auctioning cars?

[/ QUOTE ]

Not really. Galen has been researching Mopars for the past 30 years. I knew him back in the old days when I was a tech editor for Musclecar review and Mopar Muscle and he used to write articles for us. He is the person to go to if you want someone to authenticate your car. The same way Ed Cuneen (spelling) certifies the COPO cars. While Mopars are easier to document and authenticate due to their VIN sequence and the fact they all have broadcast sheets, what you are paying for is his experience in being able to tell if the car has all of its original parts, was rebodied or sectioned or just plain faked. He also updates his research over the years. Back in 1987 when I sent him my broadcast sheet and all the original paperwork for my 70 426 Hemi 4-speed R/T-SE Charger he typed out a letter decoding all of the boxes on the sheet. I recently sent him a copy of the broadcast sheet again for an update ($60) and he sent back a much more informative package (also his new info documented that the car is one of one). I think it was worth the cost. So in the end you are paying for someone's experience in telling what is real and what is not. If that's worth $400, 30 seconds before a car goes on the block, so be it. That $400 might have saved you from making a $192,500 mistake.

Under the hood. Magnesium X-Ram intake. Double roller timing chain, etc. etc. ect.
Bad A$$ Mopar. Do not attempt to start this motor at under 55 degrees Farhenheit.

I'm pretty sure that "Ferrari Guy" is Ted Waite's" brother, owner of Gateway computers. All you Gateway owners out there are paying for those $$$$ cars going into his personal display case (museum).
