I guess that old expression is true, when a door closes a window opens. ;-)
Light a match. Ryan

I went to Byron Dragway yesterday, the first time I've taken the car to a track since last year. Only got two passes as there were a few problems with other cars putting liquids on the track during the day but then a horrible crash about 3/4 down the track which took about an hour and a half to clean up THEN the rain came at 3.
My first pass wasn't very good as I had clutch problems but my second pass I clicked off a 12.31@114. I decided to run with open headers for the first time. It didn't seem to do much but that's hard to tell with only one good pass. I did notice it seemed to rev faster. The biggest change was the adjustment I made to the QA1 shocks in the rear. I made both of them stiffer and the car really left level with little to no twist. I'm bound and determined to get into the 11's with the current setup but it takes more time at the track and I don't have/make it plus I want the car to stay together without breaking anything. I do have a over the counter 136 intake I'm thinking of gasket matching and taking some of the divider out. The current intake is a Edelbrock TM2R which works great but I think I need a dual plane for low end. The last picture is from last year. Kurt ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]()

I'm making some changes to the Chevelle. I haven't liked the Hurst Competition Shifter since I put it in. It doesn't feel solid like a Super Street Shifter or a Ram Rod. I much prefer the straight rods over the bent rods....it's a much more solid feel when shifting.
My trans builder told me to try the Ram Rod. After a week I'll either throw it out in the trash or get rid of my WIFE before I take that shifter out! I won't go that far but I'm going to try out the Ram Rod. If I don't like it, I have a Super Shifter for plan "C" to put in it. In other words, only the straight rods will be in the car. I have some metal fabricating to do (obviously) but here are some pictures. Kurt ![]() ![]() ![]()
