In the meantime, I think I'll just let others decide for themselves what they should do with their own car. Drive it, don't drive it, it isn't any of my concern or business. [/ QUOTE ] BINGO! Put a fork in it. |

Re: ZL-1 # 40 on Ebay
[ QUOTE ]
I like to drive my car. I refer to it as my "anti-depressant". [/ QUOTE ] My car serves that function too. There's just something about the sound, smell, and feel of driving my Camaro. Takes me back to my teenage years and all the fun we had crusing the Main (before it was outlawed), and trying to impress the girls. I guess my car is more of an emotional investment than a monetary investment. If I was heavily financially invested in a car I might be a little nervous about driving it but I'd still drive it. Imagine yourself on your death bed in the hospital someday. All plugged in, IV'd, crapping in a pan and pissing through a catheter. Will you wish you'd enjoyed your possessions more? Only you decide how your life's script will be written. Think of the movie "Tin Cup." Ray (Costner) goes for immortality on the 18th hole rather than the easy lay-up to force the playoff. Laying-up would be the smart play but he wants to be remembered. He knows that no one really remembers the winner but everyone will remember the guy who took a dozen swings to clear the water and get on the green. Ray knows it's the story that people remember. If Frank or Marlin grenaded an engine during an SCR race they'd be respected by almost everyone here, plus it'd be a hell of a good story. The guys who are in this for making money will shake their heads at the loss in value but the rest of us will tell that story for the rest of our lives. It would be an immortal moment. Think of it, whomever grenades their engine racing at the SCR will be IMMORTAL. "Remember when _________ blew-up his ________ in the lights at SCR __? Man, I'll never forget that!" "Remember when _________ got a million for his _________ at auction?" Which one is the better story? You decide. |

Re: ZL-1 # 40 on Ebay
Yeah, 4.88 gears were not such a great idea for a basically stock (original) engine. Should have stayed with the 4.10s.
