Every Memorial Day weekend Lane Automotive in Watervliet MI has an open house on Friday evening and on Saturday. Last year there were over 1,000 cars there. The highlights are a cackle fest at noon on Saturday and a dyno challenge. Here are a few pictures I've taken there over the past several years.

S. Lutes' 54 sedan delivery had a 383 with a mini blower and NOS backed by a 4 speed.

Nice 67 Chevy II SS with a small block.

N. Porpiglia's 85 T/A with a 400 small block and a ProCharger put out over 700 rwhp on the dyno. This car is a Drag Week regular and has gone as fast as 8.70's.

Here are a few of the cars involved with the cackle fest.

P. VanNus' 67 Chevy II with an LS-7 producing 660 hp and backed by a 5 speed.

J. Spencer's 69 Chevelle SS show car.

Wild LS powered Miata.

Here are a few pictures I've taken over the years at Osceola Dragway which is the closest track to my house. They have a test and tune on Friday night and weekly bracket racing on Sundays. A lot of guys race at US 131 in Martin MI on Saturday and then come here on Sunday.

G. Crager's 70 Challenger is a low 9 second car.

Nice Corvette with a 496 and a Powerglide ran mid 9's.

This 84 Hurst Olds runs high 8's with Oldsmobile power.

This clean 55 210 had a 540 with twin turbos and ran 9.00's in street trim.

This 70 Cuda is supposedly a body in white car that has been raced it's whole life. It had a 540ci Hemi and ran mid 9's.

M. Tagmeyer's 67 Chevy II SS ran a 421 small block backed by a Jerico 4 speed and ran 10.20's. This was a fun car to watch run.

Nice 72 442 W-30 clone had a 455 and ran 11.20's.

This little 63 Chevy II sedan had a small block on NOS and ran 9.10's.

Here's another picture of B. Goldstone's 7 second street legal 70 Chevelle SS. This is one of my favorite street and strip cars.

Nice 69 Camaro SS runs a 540 on NOS and runs mid 8's.

This 70 Nova SS was a regular at the Super Chevy Shows in Indy and Joliet back in the late 90's and early 00's. It has a big block and runs mid 10's.

This clean 68 Camaro RS/SS has a 383 and runs mid 10's.

US 131 Dragway in Martin MI is the closest big time track so I go there occasionally. Here are a few pictures from there over the last few years.

T. Strefling's 55 Bel Air sedan had a 580 and ran high 8's. This is one of the meanest sounding drag cars around.

The Heikus' 71 Z/28 had an Alan Johnson built 526 and ran high 6's. This was one bad machine.

S. Morris' 93 Caprice wagon has a 540 with a ProCharger and runs high 7's on drag radials.

Clean 67 Camaro SS had a pump gas 496 and ran low 10's.

Another clean 67 Camaro RS that had a big block on NOS and ran mid 8's.

C. Comella's LO23 68 Hemi S/S Dart doing a little T&T ran mid 8's.

Nice 73 Duster with a 412 stroker ran mid 9's.

P. Costa's 09 Stratus had a 500ci Hemi Pro Stock engine backed by an automatic. I never saw him make a full pass, but it should run in the high 6's or low 7's.

C. Caswell's 62 Impala with a 461 ran 9.70's.

C. Manso's cool 01 Corvette with a 502 ran 9.20's.

C. VanWerton's sleeper 67 Chevy II had a blue bench seat interior with a column shifted Powerglide and was powered by a naturally aspirated 420 small block. This didn't look like a mid 10 second car.

R. Hoke's 68 Chevy II is a 9 second street and strip car and Drag Week regular.

G. Borgman's 72 Nova is powered by a 548 and runs 8.40's.

J. Jensen's 65 Malibu SS with a 406 ran 9.40's.

Fast 67 Camaro RS with a hat injected big block ran high 7's.

This 12 COPO Camaro with a manually shifted 427 ran 9.80's.

This looks like neat car! Are there any other pics of it on the net? I love cars that have the nostalgic feel and can still run. Thanks!

Thanks guys, I'm glad you're enjoying them! Last year was the first time I've ever seen that white 67 Chevy II. If I see it again I'll take some more pictures of it.

Here are a few miscellaneous photos from local events.

This 63 Z-11 Impala was on display at the Gilmore Auto Museum and they brought it out to an event at Martin MI to promote the exhibit at the museum. I believe this is the only Satin Silver Z-11 and it has just over 1K miles on it. It was sold new at Gregor Chevrolet in Paramount CA. It supposedly has some original documentation including the POP. It was featured in Hot Rod many years ago.

The Hot Rod Power Tour stopped at the St. Joe Fairgrounds in South Bend IN in 2009 and these cars were there.

Nice 67 Chevy II from MO.

G. Abraham's 70 Nova was built by Rad Rods by Troy and featured a 572 producing over 1,000 hp. I think this car was featured in Popular Hot Rodding.

This cool 69 Camaro had an LS9 and was owned by some famous guy from CA who's owned a bunch of Camaros and other cars over the years. I've heard he likes to keep a low profile so I won't identify him by name, but I think that's him behind the car. I believe this car was featured in several magazines.

This 70 Hemi Challenger R/T was on display at the Gilmore Auto Museum several years ago when they had a muscle car display.
