Lowest milage 69 Yenko Camaro?

My observation is many vintage &quot;drag only&quot; cars ended up in the 3000-4000 mile range:

Royal Swiss Cheese Cat approx 3600 miles
Stan Antlocer/Stan Long '63 Lemans Coupe approx 3300 miles
My '65 GTO = 4600 miles

Seems to be the &quot;sweet spot&quot; for mileage accumulation for cars with serious race careers and limited street miles, IMO.

As for new 1/4s on &quot;The Gambler&quot;.....don't know when they were installed, but likely the restorer thought it was the best thing to do. In hindsight, repairing the originals would've been preferable.



That was probably don back when complete panel replacement was standard on restorations. If a fender had rust down low it was replaced instead of repaired. The thought was that you had this nice new panel so you should replace it all. I have always tried to keep as much original metal as possible. Now that is the accepted method. There was a time when rebodies were accepted, now they are looked down on. In the 70's and 80's when the cars were just old used cars guys painted them with wild schemes so they did not look like boring factory cars. I just look at the time frame a car was first restored to understand what would have been done to it. Cars that could have been &quot;preserved&quot; as survivors were restored because in order to get respect they had to be shiny show cars. Drag car mileages are not actual mileages. There speedometers were disconnected most times. When I worked at a track I tech inspected a local 70 Cuda 440 6 pack Super Stocker now for sale and advertised with 16 miles.

Haha right!? My dad bought it as a roller from the original owner and these pictures were from when he first bought it. I figure Lloyd kept the wheels and tires and these snows were put on as rollers.

I just opened the link for the 'Cuda advertised above. I remember that car very well as it raced a lot here on the east coast. I know the answer and why it is so named, but does anyone know what &quot;Tempus Fugit&quot; means?

Rick lived 20minutes from the track. He told me to look at the odometer when I was teching it. He also told me that NHRA was not going to let race at an event because it did not have driving lights on the front. He said he watched it come off the truck at BZ Motors new and it never had them. He had to go buy lights and put on to race. I was at Joes yesterday for a few hours getting the title straightened out on the Camaro. He told me rearended the car I bought at Numedia. I see the damage on my car, he hit it horsing around coming back the return road with the passenger side of the Cuda. Rick was very nice when I talked to him and Joe was the same. Rick died several years back and Joe is now retired from driving. I told him he could drive the car when it is done.

There was a dark green, black top yenko camaro I ran across in Texas some years back, an owner had that would not sell. I <span style="font-style: italic">think</span> it had 1300 miles on it, it was a survivor. Same guy had an orange yenko too (restored), and I showed pics of both cars to John P (SSL78), when the orange one was forsale.

I thought it was a derogatory remark against a mid-sized Pontiac from the '60s.
