[ QUOTE ] [ QUOTE ] Original "SS" Wheels are in very nice shape and so are the original Yenko caps. Just in passing 3 of the wheels are dated A 20 and 1 is A 17. Joe [/ QUOTE ] [ QUOTE ] Hey Marlin. All indications from the Roofs are that these 4 wheels (and the XT spare) are original to the car. Do other Deuces have this much spread between wheel assembly and car production (i.e 4 1/2 mos)? [/ QUOTE ] I think if you look harder you'll see a 4 20 and a 4 17 rather than an "A". As far as I know AO SS wheels were dated with numerals, not letters... making them April 20 and April 17, If that's the case they aren't "4 1/2 months early" and are actually pretty consistent with the wheel dates of most every other Deuce. Erik and I inspected this car when it was still home in Indiana, PA a few years ago but I forget what type of lugnuts were on it... are they chrome plated, or stainless capped? Pretty sure they were just plated, not the capped factory type you'd find on SS Chevelles. |

1970 calendar indicates "A 17" was a Saturday. Don't know if the factories would have been operating on a Saturday . "4 17" and "4 20" would be wheels assembled on Friday and Monday !

Just in passing, Sam requested no overspray on the underside, and he is going to finish out the paint daubs, and tags. I believe Joe shot it with Dupont. |

[ QUOTE ] geez where have i been, i didnt even see this until now ! sam, thats going to be a cool ride when completed. so this car was from Indiana Pa. huh ? my parents grew up about 30 or so minutes from there in Clymer. thats cool !!! [/ QUOTE ] Cool Jeff. Clymer is even closer than that - more like a stones throw! My Mom grew up in Indiana. I lived and worked there for awhile after high school. Roofs were just outside of Indiana in Creekside just to the north of town.
