Lets hope not every 70 Chevelle gets restored the way this one appears now...you can't take one mass produced car and put all the same mistakes or details on them.

Exactly. That's why I mentioned a couple of details that are commonly wrong and have snowballed. My latest thing is chassis paint markings I'm finding as I do one of my Z16s. Some of these are UNDER the part's paint and were never visible after assy.
I can only restore the car as IT was made, not as someone else's was built or restored but that 27 mile LS6 sure is a very nice examble to compare notes on! Dave |

The same people who was selling it before are the same people who are selling it now.

LOOK at Left side (drivers) smog tube.......Guess I should ask at Chevelles.net site.......but does anybody know how long or when this style of "TREE" was used versus the style that makes 90' bend around front corner of valve cover, that is always seen on 69 Camaros
I'm trying to determine what MIGHT have been correct on 01C Camaro L-78.....assy manual shows SAME as this Chevelle, but VERY difficult if at all to find THAT style TREE............ Chuck S

Nick
I doubt there was ever some minor damage done to this front end.The people I know who have seen this car in person would've spotted something like that.I remove the "SS" center emblem & the "Chevelle" emblem when I get my car ready for a show so maybe they've done similar. Don They may not mean anything,as VOLO,NICAB,& Midwest Car Exchange here do that all the time. They sell a car, then the new owner says resell it for me.Who knows? Chuck I don't know if Norwood & Van Nuys were the same as the other 7 Chevelle Plants,(Van Nuys did build Chevelles),but that style Smog tree falls into the correct timeline for this LS6. From research I have gathered,January looks to be when the Hockey stick style tube was changed over to this Chevelles design,as well as the underlined "GH" ink stamp on the Diverter being changed over to a white circle decal with a red "GH" in it. |
