A12 Pilot & Kelly: Promoting the Hobby at MCACN in a HUGE WAY
As I hammer out all the details for the upcoming show, some things really stand out that make my job pretty darn neat.
Many of you on here know Dave (and Kelly!) Molnar, aka A12 Pilot. Dave is an incredible guy with a great sense of humor and an uncanny ability to create masterful works of art out of...well, damn near whatever happens to be sitting around. His namesake 69.5 A12 Super Bee was Unveiled at MCACN several years ago and went on to a great home in California where it has since garnered some impressive awards. Of course, Dave being Dave decided to take things a step further to create his vision of a BMW 507. Now, this wasn't some kit car or even fiberglass for that matter. This creation is truly a work of art and if you haven't seen the chronicle of its build on this site you need to. The build and how Dave did it is beyond remarkable. But that isn't what this post is about... You see, Dave is pretty passionate about this great hobby we all love. He wants to see it thrive, and he and Kelly watched some of our younger enthusiasts at MCACN in action. We discussed how cool it is to see some younger guys and girls jumping in, and how there really are some kids out there that don't spend all their time on their iPads. He asked what he could do to encourage young people. Dave and Kelly decided they wanted to do something really special at MCACN for these young enthusiasts. Long story short, they decided to purchase an entire Miller welding package, (value well in excess of $1,000.00) and award it to a deserving participant who would really use it. To say the response was positive is a major understatement. If you received the new MCACN magazine, hopefully you saw the letter that last years winner sent me. Literally brought tears to my eyes. It is with great pride that we announce Dave and Kelly are again presenting a Miller welding package to a deserving young enthusiast next weekend., for the third year now. We have 11 young car owners joining us who will be eligible to take home this set, which is already loaded into the MCACN trailer. Now as outgoing as Dave is, he asked to remain "under the radar" with this program but I say forget that! Please join me in extending a huge THANK YOU to Dave and Kelly for their kindness and generosity. Their commitment to making this hobby (and MCACN!) last is unsurpassed. Words really cant express how much this means to us. Bashton Last edited by bashton; Yesterday at 12:28 PM. |

They really are outstanding people, along with many others on this sight. I've seen how Dave and Kelly help when they see an opportunity. Welding is a great skill to learn. It paid my bills for many years.

I’ve known Dave for 23 years now and he’s always had the same energy level, friendliness and generosity. I thinking is great the he and Kelly are doing this again.
We are lucky to have the two of them in our hobby and inner circles. |

They are both great ambassadors to our hobby for which we all appreciate. Thank you both for what you do and for also giving us some good reading.
