Sweeping changes to the CRF450R line in 2005 made their way into the new 450X model which takes trail –riding to a whole new level. It was designed to tame the toughest terrain with broader torque, wider gear ratios and enduro-spec suspension. The electric-start CRF450X was advertised as quite simply the ultimate open-class off-road machine. This 18-year old example is in like-new condition throughout with no visible signs of wear. It was purchased by MS CLASSIC CARS in June of 2024 and October of 2024 is the first time it's been listed for sale.

The crankshaft is made of high-strength, low carbon steel with carburized main journals for maximum durability at sustained high-rpm operation. Unicam valve train features a carburized single camshaft that directly actuates two 35mm titanium intake valves. The camshaft exhaust lobe actuates two 30mm steel exhaust valves via a forked, low friction and roller rocker arm. The engine has a Nikasil cylinder lining which is lightweight and provides cooler operation for extended engine life. It has forged 12.0:1 compression slipper piston is lighter than a conventional design, revving quickly while maintaining excellent cylinder sealing and high-rpm power.
