Extremely hard wood the was used on the deck of the battleship New Jersey.

I bought this wheel in 1975 at the Bob McDorman Corvette show in Columbus Ohio. Paid a huge price at the time, $300, but it’s minty.

Lauderdale in the early 70's I once missed by an hour buying 25 teak wheels that a guy was selling due to his need for bail money. Love the advertising from the 1965 Pontiac consumer catalog on this steering wheel.
They may be alluding to the 65-66 Teakwood steering wheel (last 2 photos) that could splinter badly in an accident.
