1969 L78 375hp 396
"JH" suffix for 4spd
Nova VIN - last digit factory double stamped 8 over 7 (car with this VIN still exists, but owner is not interested in putting it back to original )
Sept 20th 1968 assembly date for early 69 model year.
I 14 8 casting date (Sept 14th 68)
+.060 and needs a sleeve in #1 cylinder (see pics)
Original forged crank, dimple rods, etc.

840 rectangle port heads
I 10 8 and H 1 8 casting dates. (Sept 10th and August 1st 68)

Yeah, unfortunately he mini-tubbed the car a few years ago and went the resto-mod route with a 502, Tremec 5spd, and DSE suspension. He had no idea it was an L78 car until I sent the VIN to Wes and he tracked the car down.

Not sure how the engine ended up separated from the car, but it was installed in my '68 Chevelle sometime prior to 1974.
