Default George Poteet, hot rodder, land speed racer

Great collector, had a lot of builds commissioned over the years.

I remember him commissioning a really cool Charger build - believe it was built by Steve Strope.

He was a tremendous asset to the hobby, to say nothing for being one helluva nice guy. Tracey and I had spent a little time with him years ago. A class act for sure.

I know he commissioned several cars by Troy Trepanier too. As others have said, hot rodding has lost an ambassador.
Godspeed Mr. Poteet.

Really nice guy. George was a huge supporter of everyone in the car hobby. He loved going on Good-guys tours and would often be driving a brand new build. He constantly had multiple cars being built at different shops around the country. He had a couple break downs on tours on new builds and after that you might see one of his builds being driven on the tour by the builder to make sure it was road worthy but in reality he liked the builder to have fun along with him. He would post tour stops at his family farm in Mississippi and feed everyone. I don't know of anyone that supported the car hobby more than George. He had quite the life. Rest in Peace George.

Last time I seen George he seemed a little slower than his usual self. I sold him a couple cars a few years back one was a 56 chevy business coupe 240 horse. He told me then his first kiss and first date was in a 56 chevy so he had a soft spot for them. He made a very fair offer for the car that wasn't for sale so I sold him the car only to buy them both back a couple years later. He was quite the hot rodder, I am very sorry to hear that he has passed.
