Default Parts taken off 69 L78 to get it running

Car sat for many years and these parts were replaced to get it running for sale.

I am going to put them back on.
Looks to be the factory installed stuff to me.

What say you?

Is the cap a no R type because the distributor is fairly early???

Just see what kind shape the rotor button contact points look like. The rotor button looks good IMO.
That dab of purple paint on the dist. has got me thinking 🤔. It might be a factory inspector mark. Others may know something about it.
Been a long time since I’ve fooled with caps. There’s non R, R caps, non patent pending, patent pending and just AC DELCO. Different years for different lettering. Probably go to the CRG site and get that info.
The 499 distributor is definitely very cool 😎!!!
What’s the build date of the car?

The purple stripe was color ID for the engine plant. Many different colors used.

Thanks Kurt, I knew that had some significance. If it was mine I’d try to keep that mark when cleaning up the piece.

Distributor is as clean as it is going to get.
Car had 24,124 miles on it when we picked it up. It now has 24,779 miles.
Not going to restore or repaint it.

Pic of inside of cap.

The points and condenser were Echlin so did not bother with them.
Plug wires were changed also.

Thanks to all.
Dave

Cap looks good to me. Keep us posted as the clean up continues. I’m a big block fan especially the L78’s. 👍
The reason I ask about your cars build date was to see how close the distributor date was to the car. It’s an early 499.
Thanks,

Was it mentioned elsewhere and I missed it?
Do we know the Cowl tag assembly date of this car?
How about the Tonawanda engine assembly date behind the Alt.or maybe down by the oil filter instead?
