Value of a 66 Nova SS
I've had this car for over 40 years, but it's no longer inspectable in MA. No station will even entertain doing it, they tell me no way (the local cops hate it too). Ma has cameras, and they take pictures, so no one wants to take the chance (too loud, too high and no factory seat belts just to mention a few things) I have an old friend who lives in NH who wants it, but I'm having trouble coming to a value on it. It will be a roller (currently a aluminum head 427 and AG M22) I hand-built the front subframe, and when through seven front axles before I got one that didn't smile/flex under the weight of the car. The axle also matches the width of the car (most kit axles are only 4' wide) and steers nice and straight. Willwood front disks, Ford spindles. I recently redid the dash, all the chrome flashing and components. 8 point cage, and I have the halo to complete it. Factory 66 buckets with an extra set. five point belts. The rear in a Ford 9" with axle floaters and ladder bars. Yokon 411 locker with Moser axles. Car pulls nice and straight with good traction. The Hooker super comps come with it. and two NOS GM quarters, and one NOS fender. I also have a handful of NOS trim, and more parts.,It's not rusty, but has had a hard life as a street car. I know this is a hard thing to value a car you can't see in person, but I want to be fair with the price.

----Hate to say it, but that's Massachusetts for you. If your Nova had been at Mecum a week ago I'll bet it would have gone for around $35,000. Gassers are hot right now! Of course, that would have been with an engine of some sort in it!....Bill S

That's a pretty cool ride.
I don't know if you're interested in stretching it's legs, or even just showing it off this coming weekend (before you offload it, and probably regret it), but we have a Nostalgia Event this weekend at New England Dragway. East Coast Gassers will be there. You'll fit right in! -Bill |
