I use a permanent heavy bodied ink from the art supply store.
I had in the past used Dr Bombay india inks in green and orange, they are not heavy bodied enough. In order to do the stamp quickly and in the same place I found them. I hold the stamp in my right hand -then lay my right wrist on the firewall to use as a hinge point... hold the stamper in my right hand and then using my left slap the back of my right hand to quickly apply the stamp. This engine compartment was included in the inspection and was deemed to have been VERY ORIGINAL by the one who judges such things. The originals were quite light on pigment as one can see in the photos of the car prior to work done. Stamps were from RICKS - 13 -14 years ago.
