Original Paint '61 348/4-sp Impala SS
No docs to prove the SS lineage conclusively, but the '0712FL' assembly stamp seems to line up well with the 4th week of July trim tag. Trans casting appears to read 9/61 so I assume that's not original.
Super cool car and looks to have been mostly untouched underneath. Metallic brakes, too. Link to 1961 Impala SS auction 11837J262840 |

----Love this 61! Love everything about it. Love the heavy duty brakes, but can't help wishing the car was optioned with the optional 350HP engine.....Bill S

The car is a real SS, but with the lowest engine offered with the SS. If you're ok with a combination of unrestored & restored, this is a great car.

So this car ended bids at $25k without meeting the reserve - would have expected stronger bidding.
For a second I thought the car in the link below was the same one, but it's not - although they are similar (this one isn't a Super Sport): Link to 1961 348/4-sp Impala auction 11837A116903 |

Yup, mine too. Kept it a few years and traded it in on a new 67 GTO. |
