NorCam, the snow hasn't made it to us in New England ... yet. You should play is safe and re-route that Deuce to me for safe keeping! I promise it will be safe, warm, and well enjoyed! Call it a detour!

I'm excited to see your progress with this car. Your parts stash and plan are pretty inspiring. Combine that with David Freiburger's Crusher Camaro done up in "Grumpy" Day 2 garb, and I'm convinced that's the style I want to build!

Well, that or a 911 SC. What can I say, I love em all!

lol...it looks a little different tonight. About 6"-7" around here, but Calgary just set a record for one day snow that's stood since 1883 and got 24"-30" over the past 24 hours. It's melting fast but what a mess. At least I got the leaves mulched, and there were lots.

H-Code

Got your message but couldn't respond for some reason. Car is enroute and will be here in a day or two. And yes, 6 weeks from NJ to Western Canada is the norm these days. Transports are always loaded with exotics headed for Vancouver and they have to make a hole for beaters to fit in with the McLaren's and Maserati's. (lol)

Pictures are a comin...and the weather has gotten better around here. Still a few days left for burning some rubber.

Got the Nova today but was more excited about the car that was underneath it in the trailer. I say that as a couple years ago I tried chasing an old C/MP 67 Camaro called Checkmate that was campaigned by Paul Mercure around Michigan. The trail went cold on my hunt for the car but someone out of BC Canada must have looked harder than me as it turned up in Michigan and it was in the trailer today. It's now headed to BC.

Here's the car in question. More on this Nova when I take some pictures of it later on.

There is a couple pictures on Kil Kare Raceway Memories (on facebook) of one of the sister car to this car. Has a 31 on the window meaning they were the Division three champs in their class the previous year.

Yes...Mike Keener and Paul Mercure are legendary racers who campaigned a 67 and 68 Camaro under the name Checkmate. Prior to this era they ran an early Corvette, and later campaigned a Vega throughout the 70's. I believe they continued racing all the way up to 2006 when they finally took a break, and later returned to race a 2012 Copo which Mike Keener is still active with today.

Here's a couple shots of the nova and a walk around video with it running. Paint is pretty cool on it but it's covered in dust and needs washing right now. Looked under it and the floors are super clean. Engine is a little weakling so that will be coming out to make room for upgrades. I'll need to add a wiper transmission, now front cowl panel, clean up some wiring and fix a few things here and there before dropping the 383 motor into it. I'll also put some new wheels on it and start adding some of the day 2 parts over the winter and spring. Should be a fun car come spring time. We'll see how it all turns out as things move along.

Oh yeah...the Cragar frame does fit this car. (lol)
