A radio, while not necessary, was on the list of things to do. And since I was knee deep into wiring, might as well work on that today!
I combined parts from a correct Becker-Mexico one with a modern Retro-Sound which gives the best of both worlds. Here you can see the aftermarket bezel, the factory correct original bezel along with the mounting plate. I'm going to use the original bezel and somehow modify it to include the lower tuner switches belie the dials too. I trimmed the mounting tabs and surprisingly, the original steel mounting plate fits the Retro ratio perfectly! But seeing as how the original radio I had was for a Mercedes 190SL and this is meant as a replacement, I guess it makes sense it would fit. I gutted the original seek bar to slip over the tuner buttons. I also mounted the turner switches below the knobs as well Add the Ivory knobs and we are petty much 100% accurate yet its 6lbs lighter. Blue-toof, Sirumous Radio, and Aux inputs to boot! Yes that's a lot of work for a radio, but that's half the fun! More to come... Cheers Dave Last edited by A12pilot; 06-04-2023 at 01:37 AM.

Wiring harness in! If you recall, I welded retainer tabs all along the inner frame rail, under the dash, engine bay, and trunk so the harness is secure. I wrapped it all in that braided stuff and it really looks professional instead of it looking like some amature wanna-be was learning how to wire!  All switches on the dash are in place and next up will be terminating the connections where they need to do. But before that, several other things to do: suspension, remote brake booster, fuel/brake lines, pedals and steering column.  Just a few more bolts!  Cheers Dave

Today was a montabulous day! We're back on all four feetsies.... well, for a little while, anyway. Rear suspension in, tires on, and man, this thing is starting to look like what it was supposed to look like!
And after the rear goes in, naturally the front is next!  So cool to bounce the car up and down on a suspension I made!  Next up, it goes back onto the jack stands since I need to route the lines and do some stuff under the car which is easier with it up in the air. Details coming up will be the remote brake booster installation, exhaust heat shields on the floor, emergency brake cables, and a plethora of other crap I still need to do!  Cheers Dave
