If it is any help, I recently purchased a high quality 14K mile survivor Malibu with a 307 and paid nearly 30K. It took me two years of diligent searching to locate this car so I would have to believe a 396 SS would be worth 4-5 times as much.

It is great to know you just need one buyer to appreciate a survivor and pay up for it! That has to be one pretty car...
