I think I would. The tire industry advises against keeping radials around for more than 10 years, regardless of if they look new or not. If you do some searching on the net, you can find stories of people having treads peel on perfectly new looking tires, and damaging 1/4 panels, etc. In my opinion, it's not worth the risk of screwing up a panel (or worse) on a beautiful car like that over $500-600 of rubber. |

I've got a 70 Trans Am that has the Polyglas tires and it is not fun to drive. I'm thinking about the same thing Torq Thrust wheels and blackwall radials. A clean day two look.

the american racing daisy 200S looks better on early TAs than the TTs. To wit: Norwood's '70 back in the day: ![]() |

X2 on the 200s wheels. Match made in heaven, really.

Those old bias ply tires were not only hard as a rock but heavy as lead too.
</div></div> Here's a pic of my unrestored X33. I have Vintage Wheel Works V40 15 x 7's and like the look a lot. Both cars definately show different with and without the vinyl top I think. I picked up a vintage set of Lakewood J bolt tracton bars from a member here this winter and plan on installing when the weather gets better this spring. I like the day two look, but I'm clueless as to what I want to do once the bars are installed. Hey guys, got any tips I can consider? ![]()

Yeah...tow tabs are next I think. I like tach on the column and gauges under the dash but I have the factory gauges. If those didn't work I definitely would consider the aftermarket stuff.

That's easy. Lay down some rubber. X2 on modern rubber for driving around. I have Firestone Sports Car 200s on the restored YH wheels that can be swapped back on in 30 min if I want that look. My car is already brutal to drive with fast ratio (fast ratio my a$$... but that's what GM called it) MANUAL steering. The bias ply tires just make it feel like I am driving on marbles. My car came with manual steering. Original box was rebuilt for resto. I do have a real Z/28 power steering pump and pulley. Also have a very nice super quick box that I removed from a WS6 TA years ago complete with custom made hoses. I had that box on the car in the 90's and may put it back on. Hopefully it will clear my current headers.
