This is exactly right. There is nothing wrong with the partial VIN on the pad. The leading 1 is for Chevrolet.

Great car, great price.

Kerry was kind enough to post my Corvette here for me--he's a nice guy and a good resource for us over on the Mustang Boards!

Please feel free to contact me directly with questions or picture requests, etc.

Thanks for the space...I appreciate the complementary comments on my car!

Kim

Bill I asked and here is what Kim said.

" I can barely see a shallower capital L in front of the 1, off to the left and more forward just slightly--but it's there. The 1 in the 12Sxxxxxxx is definitely a 1. Here's a picture--I don't have a good zoom lens for my camera, but I think you can see the L."

Certainly a ground VIN on the pad, this is not unusual from the factory. Judging could verify that the VIN is is legitimate even with a ground pad. I had a 16,000 mile '65 with a ground pad. It happened.
I like this car........

Kim can hold her own just fine in regards to 428 CJ and Boss Mustangs. I will bet she can answer any questions on the LT-1 and if not will get what you need.

Give her a call 541-451-3713 evenings before 10pm.
