I agree with you Chuck and I will be at MD also even though I am only 20 minutes from Carlisle. As for the judging circle, there should be way less bickering now since some of the judges are miles apart. It's sad sometimes, I always thought it should be more about the hobby and not so much as someone's ego.

It must have been a last minute change Chuck, because your name appears in the Carlisle program.

The GM Nationals was very well received. Obviously no one knew what to expect, but I must say the show was well attended overall. I spent Thursday and Friday in the Solid Lifter Showroom and it was awesome. Mostly new cars displayed along with some very nice survivor cars. There were 4 ZL1's, 7 solid lifter unrestored cars, L89, L72's, Motion Chevelle and a host of others. I just set up a photo bucket account.
Solid Lifter Showroom http://s1184.photobucket.com/albums/z334...02011/?start=20 The fairgrounds has many new exhibits and from what I heard they were also well received. I did spend time in the show field on Saturday and the field was filled with ALL GM models on display, Buick Stage 1's, Olds W30's Pontiac Ram Air IV and of course a nice display Chevrolets. One surprise for me was the vendor area was really buzzing with action. I in fact purchased one YH wheels, plug wire stands, wiring harness, thermostat housing and a jack assembly. Was it different yes, but I must say it was very satisfying and it was great seeing old friends and meeting new ones.

Here are a few various pics of the Carlisle fairgrounds. My camera batteries need recharging so I only downloaded a few for now. BTW the weather couldn't have been nicer which is rare for the GM Nationals.

I was not going to attend this show, but on Sat I arrived at 8:00 A.M. and left at 10:30 A.M. Attached are some pictures that I took on Sat morning of the car corral area and the show field near the car corral that used to be filled with cars. Also there is a picture of building Y that used to be filled with exceptional cars as well as the outside of the building as it sits nearly empty now. I talked to a friend who was selling parts on Friday and he said D&R one of the sponsors of this site left on Friday evening. I happened to see Bill M riding around on his golf cart and I'm sure he was not satisfied with attendance at the gate. If it would not be for the SLS this show is not worth going to IMO. Carlisle management also made a change this year to make all the food vendors use cash registers and keep track of all receipts so they can take 20% of there take. Carter Food Concession's one of the largest food vendor's who has been there for probably every show since they started decided to not attend anymore and I am sure there are others. If anyone thinks this GM show is an improvement since the ACA left please let us all know.
