[/ QUOTE ] Id have to look .. i cant imagine why the older style NOS gm would look any different than the production car door jamb, but im no nova door jamb expert..I wasnt aware that even the second run of GM NOS would be different either and i know these are the early type..ill try to find out for you unless someone here can help out .

The GM replacement panels that I've seen do not have the full "phone hook" shape in them. Some also have a door jamb vent hole in there.

Basically, GM probably used the same huge progressive stamping dies for the quarters from 68-74, but changed certain stations as the design changed. To make service parts later on, they probably only changed the die stations that they needed to.

Therefore, the sail panels are just like they always were, but the door jamb detail isn't like the previous production parts because it really didn't matter for functionality. Make sense?

Yep, very true. If they're in nice shape, they should be snatched up.

Allen..... I took pics of the area you are talking about. I guess these are 2nd design. They have the Blue GM w/ White background w/Black letters and #s GM Decals. Mine look like a Pipe.

That's the half-phone design. A lot of times only one side has the vent hole & and the half phone. It's not hard to correct, but it takes about an hour per side for us rookies
