[/ QUOTE ] I agree, that's probably what it is, but if you read down in the part of the description where they are quoting from an article about this car in Super Chevy magazine, it says "That was okay for a few years, but then Terry met up with the original engine form the car - a 396-375 with aluminum heads."

I wouldn't call Super Chevy gospel. Definitely would hold up in a court of law.

Yeah, I saw that. The "KF" code though doesn't jive with the aluminum heads.
 It shouldn't matter. It's still great looking L78 car with the bonus of some really nice aluminum heads to go with it.  Blair

The description seems honest. A L78 car w/ L89 heads. In fact he does not claim the car to be a L89.
This statement could be construed as misleading: "original engine form the car - a 396-375 with aluminum heads." I wonder when the heads joined the engine and where is the original L89 car?

i thought the 'k' in the engine code was for alum heads. i know 'jd' is the code for a 4 speed L78 and kd is the code for an alum head 4 speed L78...
