What surprised me back years ago was his voice, as it was deeper than i had anticipated. Growing up in York, PA and teaming with Strickler for several years I observed him for years at York US30 and he was for many of us our Chevy Hero. Remember his 66 L79 running against our local Jere Stahl's hemi. Oh the days of early racing.

----Met Bill at the host hotel of a vintage weekend in NC. There were about 10 people around including me. Was expecting racing anecdotes but all Bill talked about were well endowed women. He was a hoot. I'll never forget it!....Bill S

A true pioneer to drag racing like Smokey Yunick was to circle track. I saw some in car videos of Grumpy thrashing through the gears. It was amazing...
