Trans Am Series Review 1966-1971
This series represented what many of us loved. You would see them racing on TV and stop by your local dealer on Monday and marvel at the replicas on the showroom floors. Although the race prepped cars were highly modified they represented what was available to the public and inspired many to buy these cars and to get into racing.
A 69 Z28 I recently purchased was in fact modified to compete in an amateur road course series at Bryar Motorsport Park, in Loudon, NH. The second Larry D. purchased it in 1974 from the original owner and installed JL8 inspire disc brake system, special springs, stabilizer bar and crossram manifold. He sold it in 1984 and the next owner brought it to California/ Nevada. Jon Mello a Trans Am historian and car owner has documented this series in many articles he's written.

Hi Jon, the second owner of my Z28 which I referenced in my initial post modified the car for amateur road racing by installing JL8 inspire disc brake system, special springs, stabilizer bar and crossram manifold. He sent me this picture and description.
Picture taken at Bryar Motorsport Park, Loudon, NH sometime late 70’s at COM Sports Car Club track day. Bryar later morphed into NH Motor Speedway. Having trouble finding springs but still on the hunt! Larry

Very cool, Steve. Neat to see old pics of former owners having fun with the cars.
