Default Cowl Plenum Information

I've been curious about the differences in cowl plenum air cleaners and how they may change between body platforms.

For instance, on Doug's 67 Yenko, is there a difference from a small block to a big block? A bodies to fullsize. Etc....

I've been looking around on the web, and cannot say I found a good source of info.

Sorry if this is kind of a remedial question. I'd just like to know more.

In advance, thanks!
Tim

A cowl plenum air cleaner for a small block will have four "windows" in the area that would lead toward the duct. A big block cowl plenum air cleaner will have five of these "windows", and the metal extension with the rubber seal on it will be a little wider and longer. Also, the big block version has a small notched area on the driver's side that provided clearance for a breather cap on the LH valve cover. A notch at the front of the cowl plenum air cleaner is for clearance for the '68 smog pump. The '67 air cleaner does not have a notch up front because the smog pump and hoses have enough room without it.

I know i am still searching for a "Boot" that connects the 2 pieces...Cant even find a reproduction part. If we could determine a good material out there where one could be made would even be helpful.
This is for a 1968 Z28
ANYTHING out there?

My friend is making the cowl plenum boots. They are right on with the originals. He is even using the correct burlap material to connect the seam. Please send me a message for his contact information.
