Default mystery car

I thought I would share some thing that I found
Back in sept of 1964 my uncle was killed in a formula 3 race
In portoroz Yugoslavia
It was thought all these years his crash was in his LoLa Mk5a
Well this past weekend I was messing around and goggle his name and bingo it popped right that I spent hours researching and found On the LoLa web site that they had scanned all original documents I found when he bought and how much and it also gave me the chassis # of BRJ-61 Then I come to find the car is now in Dallas Texas and gave the owner as Peter Ball I have to tell you I was shocked because my uncles crash was so bad there could be no way that the car survived that I also saw his name on a atlas f1 bulletin board
Were I found out The day he died his LoLa was parked in his garage and he was driving a brand new Lotus The Lotus is now a big mystery every race result for 1964 shows it as a Lotus type 34 The problem his was running formula 3 and a type 34 was way to much car for formula 3 every is telling it had to be a Lotus type 31 witch had a 4 cylinder the type 34 had a ford 427 big block and here were it gets interesting most formula 3 cars were running around 97 hp the Type 34 Lotus was running around 500 hp
I believe that my uncle had a lotus Type 31 pulled the 4 cylinder out and replaced it with the 427 The lotus type 31 maxed out speed was around 160 mph but that day uncle broke every track record it shows he was running around 210-230 mph No way did the little 4 cylinder do that when he crashed he just got out of a turn on to a straight away
He was clocked coming out of the turn at 179.5 mph he came out of the turn and hammed it It has been said the some peoples saw the front tires come off the ground
And that when every thing went wrong lost control slid in to a tree at 220 mph and was killed instantly
Then today on the F1 bulletin board some one posted a news paper clipping of his accident and picture o f the car I was totally shocked this happen 40 years ago the only problem it is in German so I do not have a clue what is says
If you have the time you can read up on it here

Neat stuff Norm. I'll have my boy look at it. His German is pretty good.
