I loved this history lesson. Had always been curious how this site got started but was too shy to ask. Would love for Marlin to share how he got involved. Also Tom when you first started the Club how did you let others know about it?

Linda, by word of mouth and through this web site, which BTW, my son Rob designed and has ran since day one. It helped that Brian Henderson was one of the founding fathers of the sYc, as he had many contacts in the world of supercars. SCR1 was covered by MY Classic Car TV, Super Chevy magazine and Musclecar Review magazine, which gained us instant national exposure. Since then, on TV three more times, and in print way too many times to count. The list of celebs who have been to past SCRs reads like a who's who in the world of supercars, which has given the reunion even more credibility.

Also, we have worked with other shows, such as Vettefest, the Gibb show and York, where we help them attract supercars and the sYc gets the exposure. That part I really enjoy, as there I get to sit back and just enjoy the event.

The bottom line, I do not deserve all of the credit, as through the years there have been many, many folks who have gone out of their way to make the sYc and SCR what they are today. I do not think there is any doubt, in the world of Chevrolet supercars, the sYc and SCR are #1. My hats off to all who have made this happen.

Now for the rest of the story......Tom just happens to have a little over 1/4 mile straight spot in the highway just outside his shop. Pretty good place to stretch the legs of those museum pieces.

Shhh... big brother may be watching.

Thank goodness we decided to add central heat and air to our shop, as the outside temp today reached 100, with the heat index over 110.
