it's a shame, an LT1 Car was probably the best small block Corvette of them all , especially a '70[/quote]

Best SBC ever ...

Was on a back road in south central Illinois today and stumbled upon this. No one home but left my card. Not licensed since 1992 and rough but all there. Butternut 67 Z24 SS427.

Yes Helmut it was very rough. It had been previously repaired but the front fenders were very soft as were the quarters and doors. The interior was also torn up. No idea on the trunk or engine compartment. The hood appeared to be in great shape other than the chrome and that what matters. No call back as of yet but will follow up today.

If you take another look at the car, can you take pics of the vin and cowl tag so I can add it to the SS427 registry? I probably don't have that one in my list. Out of 106 in my list, only 6 are Butternut Yellow! Was it a TH400 or 4spd? Wonder if the drivetrain is original.

Very Cool Rick!

Sure look's like it hasn't been outside for the past 23 years, so the owner might be teasing everyone. Seems to be complete. I have seen the complete hood with the bezel sell for $3000.00 alone in rougher shape than what this hood looks like. Good Luck, I hope you get a call, but I am sure you are not the first person who has asked if it's for sale. See you in November.

Bill

I guy I stopped and talked to said that the car was moved out of the barn to make room for a wedding reception that was held this past weekend and had not been moved back in yet. The last two hoods I saw sell were both in excess of $4k. I believe in fate so if it does not happen so be it. I am tracking a couple of WAY more important leads so I won't lose any sleep but it still would be neat to bring another Z24 home again.
