I just had to ask. Emailed him about taking a pic of the metal tag. Here is what he said.

"the only thing left is the 2 cast studs that are still in the trunk lid. this cae can be driveb or inspected at any time with at least on days notice"

I guess you "cant make it out" when the tag is missing.

The news on the car from stevesnovasite is that the auction was stoped, and according to Todd, the guy selling the car, it was sold to a collector for an undisclosed amount of money.
If this turns out to be something, there may not be enough crow to go around. Schonye

Ken I never said it wasn't "something". I stated it wasn't a factory 427. The car probably is 396 car and sounded like a very good body.

How did this car end up in the "memorabilia and parts for sale" section anyhow? Maybe someone thought it would be a good parts car?

Here is a link from the Nova site of photos of this car. Looks like it had a dealer emblem on the trunk deck as well as the rear tail panel trim.

Looks like all that is missing from the tail panel is the SS emblem.

I try to stay open minded when old racecars are offered for sale. If this fellow has owned it for so many years, at least we know its not a clone of something. Who knows, maybe it's just a Dick Harrell modified '69 427 conversion.

Tom,
The SS emblem makes sense, I am not that aware of the emblem placement on the Nova's, car looks like someones home conversion, maybe a big block car to start with, can anyone tell from the photos if it has the big block core support?

It does look to have a big block radiator core support, but is hard to tell if that is totally true, or just a HD cooling unit from a 73/74, but does look to have the larger opening. So at least it looks to be a possible BB nova from the factory, maybe more after it left, and before it was sold? I would love to find out who bought it and what he/she knows

The car was a SS. It looks to be a BB car also. Ken if this was a HARRELL conv. or any other 427 Conv why the 1966 block ?? That's my story and sticking with it.
