Maybe today or tomorrow, I don't know. Yesterday I found a few more minor mechanical issues with the car that need to be addressed before I can get it out for a drive, and it'll take several hours (at least) to get them squared away. No surprises there though, that's why you always "nut & bolt" a new build like this.

That will have to wait for now though as I have several carbs that came in late last week that I need to get into process over the weekend.

I did get the (temporary) coil spring spacers in the LF spring, now the car sits within 1/16" of level at the front and 1/8" at the rear. I plan on replacing the front springs next spring (pardon the redundant pun) so that should negate the need for the spacers. Once that's done it's off to the alignment shop for the final alignment.

I'll try to get some more pics and a more detailed update posted up a.s.a.p.

Unfortunately there hasn't been a whole lot of progress since the car came home. I've been pretty busy with carb work, plus a couple of unforeseen side projects that needed to be addressed a.s.a.p. (more on that in a moment)

Reader's Digest version:

-Swapped out the rear springs which dropped the back of the car down where it belongs, and I've resolved the dreaded A-body lean to within 1/16" from side-to-side. Need to order front springs soon and get them swapped out so I can get the final alignment done.

-Finished up (well, 98% finished) the dash wiring except for the under-dash courtesy lights.

-Installed glove box liner.

-Replaced the belt harness along the floor which resolved intermittent electrical issues at the rear of the car.

-Welded the exhaust system at the collectors/x-pipe and readjusted the tail pipes.

-Bought NEW new door weatherstrip to replace the existing (JUNK new) components that don't fit correctly @ the back of the door, have yet to install.

-Swapped poly trans mount with shorter OEM rubber unit in an attempt to resolve a rattle/clearance issue between the header collectors and trans crossmember (status TBD)

-Resolved an ill-fitting rear antenna bezel issue, but managed to put a lil' booger in the paint in the process--will have Dave touch it up some time before spring.

-Swapped out incorrect 8" `65 style rear view mirror (I ordered the wrong one previously) for correct 10" `67 unit.

I think that's about it right now for the Chevelle. I've been busy scrambling to gather parts to build a new engine for the Suburban (nearing 200K miles and is starting to consume some coolant) so everything else has pretty much been on hold until the new engine is done and installed. I've had to deal with an odd rash of small items on the `Burb failing at once over the last few weeks which has further drained not only resources, but precious time as well. (when it rains it pours, right?)

Dad has doctors appointments out the wazoo this month, so I'll probably wind up getting even further behind chauffeuring him all over the countryside.

I'll try to grab a couple of pics to show the new stance soon.

Aside from that, who knows.....

Front springs were ordered yesterday, should be here next week. If I have time I'll try to get them installed myself--if not, I'll see what the alignment guy would charge to swap them for me.

More soon.

And don't be surprised if I post up a road report during winter...if I have to I will.

(I hope my heater works good)

Quick update;

Working on cleaning up some of the underhood mess, decided to pop the intake off to give it a quick trip through the blast cabinet to remove some oxidation...was getting ready to reinstall the intake when an overwhelming urge came over me.....

Repeat to myself!:

.....must....not....install....now!.....

Don't worry though....it will be installed sooner than later.
