[quote=njsteve]It sounds just like the situation that gave birth to the MCACN show.

What happened to Rick Markko? I thought he was a pretty good guy and an asset to Carlisle Productions.

I'll admit I was pretty bummed out when I first read about this. I waited to post till I could clearly see the glass as half full. SLS as a stand alone show? Heck yeah! I'm thrilled to see some excitement and enthusiasm. It sure would be easier to just say let's wait till 2014. Cheers to you for not giving up so easily.
Time marches on each day. Certain opportunities are fleeting. When I was talking to BIG at the MCACN this year, some of the old dealership pics were quite inspiring. How about renting the old Yenko lot for a weekend? I really wouldn't care if we got into the dealership or simply hung out in the lot (trailers depending on weather). It seems to me it would be the ONLY way to top what was done at MCACN last year. I am only aware of some of amenity challenges we might face but there are no guarantee's it will ever be able to be done in the future. I think it would be worth some sacrifice. How about it? Recreating a dealer feel isn't bad but to actually walk THE lot with real cars? Priceless! |

I agree with Jeff, parting ways with Rick Markko was a big mistake for Carlisle. If they continue to move in this direction it will be a ghostown. The only reason alot of people went to GM of Carlisle was for the SLS! Carlisle is the big loser!!!

I think MCACN was looking for some new ideas and some new display ideas. Just a shame that there is nothing real close for the east coast guys other than York MCM or the Fredricks Md. show in the Northeast to Washington DC corridor.
